New Zealand's Environment Reporting Series: The Ministry for the Environment and Statistics New Zealand
We report on pest occupancy and abundance for ungulates (hooved animals such as deer, goats, and chamois), rabbits, hares, and possums on Public Conservation Land from 2013 to 2019 using a variety of measurement methods such as faecal pellet indices and chew cards. Occupancy is whether the target animal species / group is present or absent at a site. Abundance describes the number of animals at a site.
