Source: Ministry for Primary Industries. Method: Seamount closures are established under the Fisheries Act 1996 and protect seamounts from the adverse effects of fishing. We report on the extent and location of seamount closures within the exclusive economic zone (whcih extends to the 200 nautical mile limit).
